Swift Foundations – an easy to use cabin base solution

Quick, cost effective and easy to use, Swift Foundations are an alternative solution to a typical concrete base. The bespoke system is suitable for all kinds of uses including log cabins, timber buildings, decking and platforms – and is adaptable for most types of ground conditions. Swift plinths are environmentally friendly, they typically use 95% less concrete than a concrete slab and are 100% recyclable plus you can re position or re use them. The plinths are LABC (Local Authority Building Control) approved and Swift provide a free consultation and advice service.

Installation is very easy, simply dig a hole and fit the membrane. Position the Swift grid and fill with pea gravel. Place the base stone on top and back fill. Position the optional levelling base stone if needed. Add the top stone and building support bracket. Fix the timber base to the support bracket and adjust the levelling.

Hi there,

How much are they?

  • Hi Paul,

There are certain factors to consider when designing a base using Swift foundations. To determine how many plinths you will need depends on the style and size of the building itself, the supporting framework you choose, plus different loading requirements depending on its intended use.
